Upper estimate price exceeded by 56 %.
The work Le Chant du Coq (The Rooster Song) by Hamed Nada was sold in the Modern and Contemporary Middle Eastern Art auction at Bonhams in London in May this year. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 28,160.00 (€ 32,764.35), 56% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Hamed Nada achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Henna Eve in April 2010 with an auction result of USD 602,500.00 (€ 452,939.41).
