[1960], numbered 38/50--first, slight mat stain around the image, crease across bottom margin, slightly soiled on verso, second, paper slightly toned, slight mat stain and rubbing along edges and around the image, titled in pencil as above in Japanese on verso, each with tape residue and slight stain on edges and hinging tape on verso

Auction result misses estimated price range
In March 2000 a collector was able to acquire the work Sakana to sakuranbo (Fish and cherries) Tanishi (Mud snails) by Yozo Hamaguchi for USD 4,025.00 (€ 4,204.09). This price was achieved in the auction Japanese and Korean Art at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 4,500.00 – 5,500.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Yozo Hamaguchi have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Roofs of Paris (M. Gallery 42) in May 2002 with an auction result of USD 33,460.00 (€ 35,828.25).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im März 2000 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Sakana to sakuranbo (Fish and cherries) Tanishi (Mud snails) von Yozo Hamaguchi für USD 4.025,00 (€ 4.204,09) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Japanese and Korean Art bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 4.500,00 – 5.500,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Yozo Hamaguchi auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Roofs of Paris (M. Gallery 42) im Mai 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 33.460,00 (€ 35.828,25).
