Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Hablot Knight Browne could be acquired at Christies in London in November 2004 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Sporting Art and Dogs auction, the work Hare Hunting Extraordinary; Running The Rail; Bellowes To Mend; Something Like A Finish; Pounded And No Mistake; And Look Before You Leap changed hands for GBP 2,987.50 (€ 4,297.50) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Other works by Hablot Knight Browne have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in December 2001 by the work A Run with the Stag Hounds, including: Hold hard! Let the Hounds go first, if you please, Gentlemen; A Short cut to the Meet; Something wrong, as usual-lost shoes, stirrups, girth, &c.; Uncarting the Deer; Thrown Out. Have you seen the Hounds Sir?
