In October 2021 Bonhams in New York held the auction Photographs, which included the work Untitled Photogram; and Shadow Collage 2 by György Kepes. The »bidding war« ended at USD 7,012.50 (€ 6,070.38), 40% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by György Kepes - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work without title, which sold at auction in May 2020 for USD 23,825.00 (€ 21,467.83).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 40 % übertroffen
Im Oktober 2021 führte Bonhams in New York die Auktion Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled Photogram; and Shadow Collage 2 von György Kepes zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 7.012,50 (€ 6.070,38) und damit 40% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von György Kepes mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit ohne Titel beobachtet, die im Mai 2020 für USD 23.825,00 (€ 21.467,83) versteigert wurde.
