Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Radiance by György Kepes was auctioned at Bonhams in May this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 1,000.00 – 2,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 1,211.25 (€ 1,136.90) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by György Kepes achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work without title in May 2020 with an auction result of USD 23,825.00 (€ 21,467.83).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Radiance von György Kepes kam im Mai diesen Jahres bei Bonhams zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 1.000,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 1.211,25 (€ 1.136,90) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von György Kepes erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit ohne Titel im Mai 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 23.825,00 (€ 21.467,83).
