Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Two Abstract Compositons by György Kepes was sold in the Studio Art | Bonhams Skinner auction at Bonhams in May this year. The price achieved of USD 318.75 (€ 299.18) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 200.00 – 400.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by György Kepes achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work without title in May 2020 with an auction result of USD 23,825.00 (€ 21,467.83).

Die Arbeit Two Abstract Compositons von György Kepes wurde im Mai diesen Jahres in der Auktion Studio Art | Bonhams Skinner bei Bonhams versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 318,75 (€ 299,18) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 200,00 – 400,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von György Kepes erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit ohne Titel im Mai 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 23.825,00 (€ 21.467,83).
