Auction result misses estimated price range
In May this year a collector was able to acquire the work Abstract Composition by György Kepes for USD 765.00 (€ 718.04). This price was achieved in the auction Studio Art | Bonhams Skinner at Bonhams and was even below the estimate range of USD 800.00 – 1,200.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by György Kepes achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work without title in May 2020 with an auction result of USD 23,825.00 (€ 21,467.83).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Mai diesen Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Abstract Composition von György Kepes für USD 765,00 (€ 718,04) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Studio Art | Bonhams Skinner bei Bonhams erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 800,00 – 1.200,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von György Kepes erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit ohne Titel im Mai 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 23.825,00 (€ 21.467,83).
