Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Lady in Bed by Guy Pène du Bois was sold in the Modern Discoveries auction at Sothebys in New York in March last year. Here, the upper estimate of USD 8,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 8,190.00 (€ 7,383.03). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Guy Pène du Bois achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Crowd [Self-Portrait|AID239202] in November 2012 with an auction result of USD 602,500.00 (€ 463,105.30).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Lady in Bed von Guy Pène du Bois wurde im März letzten Jahres in der Auktion Modern Discoveries bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 8.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 8.190,00 (€ 7.383,03) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Guy Pène du Bois erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Crowd [Self-Portrait|AID239202] im November 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 602.500,00 (€ 463.105,30).
