Auction result well in line with expectations
In August 2001 Christies in Sydney held the auction AUSTRALIAN AND INTERNATIONAL PAINTINGS, which included the work Reefs - Augusta by Guy Grey-Smith. The price achieved of AUD 14,100.00 (€ 8,185.45) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 12,000.00 – 16,000.00. Admittedly, works by Guy Grey-Smith have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Mount Vernon, 1961 in September 2020 with an auction result of AUD 39,040.00 (€ 33,316.27).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im August 2001 führte Christies in Sydney die Auktion AUSTRALIAN AND INTERNATIONAL PAINTINGS durch, in der auch die Arbeit Reefs - Augusta von Guy Grey-Smith zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 14.100,00 (€ 8.185,45) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 12.000,00 – 16.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Guy Grey-Smith auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Mount Vernon, 1961 im September 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 39.040,00 (€ 33.316,27).
