Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Landscape by Guy Grey-Smith was sold in the AUSTRALIAN & INTERNATIONAL PAINTINGS auction at Christies in Melbourne in November 2001. It changed hands for a price of AUD 7,637.50 (€ 4,436.03) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of AUD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Admittedly, works by Guy Grey-Smith have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Mount Vernon, 1961 in September 2020 with an auction result of AUD 39,040.00 (€ 33,316.27).
