Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Le Canal de Gand by Gustave Mascart was sold in the The House Sale auction at Christies in New York in June 2005. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 3,120.00 (€ 2,578.94) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Gustave Mascart have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Sur la Plage in June 2005 with an auction result of GBP 9,600.00 (€ 14,227.81).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Le Canal de Gand von Gustave Mascart wurde im Juni 2005 in der Auktion The House Sale bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 3.120,00 (€ 2.578,94) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Gustave Mascart auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Sur la Plage im Juni 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 9.600,00 (€ 14.227,81).
