Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2010 Sothebys in London held the auction 19th Century European Paintings Including Spanish Painting, The Orientalist Sale, and German, Austrian, Scandinavian and Symbolist Works, which included the work Belgian girl With A Rose by Gustave de Jonghe. It changed hands for a price of GBP 7,500.00 (€ 8,962.49) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gustave de Jonghe achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Afternoon Visit in November 2001 with an auction result of USD 110,500.00 (€ 123,353.43).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2010 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion 19th Century European Paintings Including Spanish Painting, The Orientalist Sale, and German, Austrian, Scandinavian and Symbolist Works durch, in der auch die Arbeit Belgian girl With A Rose von Gustave de Jonghe zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 7.500,00 (€ 8.962,49) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gustave de Jonghe erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Afternoon Visit im November 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 110.500,00 (€ 123.353,43).
