In the Old Master and 19th Century European Art auction, the work Mother With Her Young Daughter sold for USD 59,375.00 (€ 40,883.43) - well above the upper estimate of USD 30,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gustave de Jonghe - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Afternoon Visit, which sold at auction in November 2001 for USD 110,500.00 (€ 123,353.43).
