Upper estimated price slightly exceeded

It achieved a price of GBP 9,375.00 (€ 13,127.43), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 17%. Admittedly, works by Gustave de Jonghe have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Afternoon Visit in November 2001 with an auction result of USD 110,500.00 (€ 123,353.43).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Belgian A Moment Of Distraction von Gustave de Jonghe kam im November 2007 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 9.375,00 (€ 13.127,43) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 17%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Gustave de Jonghe auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Afternoon Visit im November 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 110.500,00 (€ 123.353,43).
