Auction result misses estimated price range
In February 2018 a collector was able to acquire the work Belgian practicing by Gustave de Jonghe for USD 13,750.00 (€ 11,260.34). This price was achieved in the auction Fine Old Master & 19th Century European Art at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gustave de Jonghe achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Afternoon Visit in November 2001 with an auction result of USD 110,500.00 (€ 123,353.43).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Februar 2018 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Belgian practicing von Gustave de Jonghe für USD 13.750,00 (€ 11.260,34) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Fine Old Master & 19th Century European Art bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gustave de Jonghe erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Afternoon Visit im November 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 110.500,00 (€ 123.353,43).
