The »bidding war« ended at USD 504,000.00 (€ 454,340.58), 68% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Gunther Gerzso; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Paisaje legendario (Azul y naranja) sold at auction in May last year with the realized price of USD 529,200.00 (€ 493,150.68).
