Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Untitled by Gulam Rasool Santosh was sold in the Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art auction at Sothebys in New York in March 2019. The price achieved of USD 9,375.00 (€ 8,349.66) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gulam Rasool Santosh achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work without title in March 2014 with an auction result of USD 149,000.00 (€ 108,151.27).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Untitled von Gulam Rasool Santosh wurde im März 2019 in der Auktion Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 9.375,00 (€ 8.349,66) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gulam Rasool Santosh erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit ohne Titel im März 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 149.000,00 (€ 108.151,27).
