Auction result well in line with expectations
In March last year Christies in New York held the auction South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art Including Works from the Collection of Mahinder and Sharad Tak, which included the work September 1965 by Gulam Rasool Santosh. The price achieved of USD 22,680.00 (€ 20,445.33) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Admittedly, works by Gulam Rasool Santosh have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work without title in March 2014 with an auction result of USD 149,000.00 (€ 108,151.27).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März letzten Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art Including Works from the Collection of Mahinder and Sharad Tak durch, in der auch die Arbeit September 1965 von Gulam Rasool Santosh zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 22.680,00 (€ 20.445,33) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Gulam Rasool Santosh auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit ohne Titel im März 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 149.000,00 (€ 108.151,27).
