Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Gulam Rasool Santosh achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in September this year. In the South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art auction, the work without title sold for USD 69,300.00 (€ 65,476.19) - well above the upper estimate of USD 25,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Gulam Rasool Santosh; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot without title sold at auction in March 2014 with the realized price of USD 149,000.00 (€ 108,151.27).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Gulam Rasool Santosh erzielte im September diesen Jahres bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art wurde diese Arbeit ohne Titel für USD 69.300,00 (€ 65.476,19) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 25.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Gulam Rasool Santosh; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit ohne Titel im März 2014 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 149.000,00 (€ 108.151,27).
