This artwork by Gulam Rasool Santosh achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in September this year. In the South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art auction, the work Untitled (Roosters) sold for USD 27,720.00 (€ 26,190.48) - well above the upper estimate of USD 12,000.00. Admittedly, works by Gulam Rasool Santosh have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work without title in March 2014 with an auction result of USD 149,000.00 (€ 108,151.27).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Gulam Rasool Santosh erzielte im September diesen Jahres bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art wurde die Arbeit Untitled (Roosters) für USD 27.720,00 (€ 26.190,48) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 12.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Gulam Rasool Santosh auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit ohne Titel im März 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 149.000,00 (€ 108.151,27).
