Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work French Contemplation by Guillaume Seignac was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in February 2019, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 20,000.00 – 25,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 15,000.00 (€ 13,182.18). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Guillaume Seignac achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work French l'Abandon in June 2010 with an auction result of GBP 157,250.00 (€ 191,230.64).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit French Contemplation von Guillaume Seignac im Februar 2019 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 20.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 15.000,00 (€ 13.182,18) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Guillaume Seignac erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit French l'Abandon im Juni 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 157.250,00 (€ 191.230,64).
