Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Incendiary Device #2 by Gregory Green was auctioned at Phillips in New York in September 2011, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 1,250.00 (€ 929.44). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gregory Green - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work "Chemical Bomb #1"., which sold at auction in June last year for EUR 2,904.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Incendiary Device #2 von Gregory Green im September 2011 bei Phillips in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 1.250,00 (€ 929,44) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Gregory Green mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit "Chemical Bomb #1". beobachtet, die im Juni letzten Jahres für EUR 2.904,00 versteigert wurde.
