Auction result misses estimated price range
In November 2021 a collector was able to acquire the work Sultry Night by Grant Wood for USD 9,375.00 (€ 8,306.02). This price was achieved in the auction A Graphic Century - 1875-1975 at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Grant Wood achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Study for "February" in December 2008 with an auction result of USD 1,058,500.00 (€ 760,471.30).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im November 2021 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Sultry Night von Grant Wood für USD 9.375,00 (€ 8.306,02) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion A Graphic Century - 1875-1975 bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Grant Wood erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Study for "February" im Dezember 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.058.500,00 (€ 760.471,30).
