In June last year Bonhams in Los Angeles held the auction Prints & Multiples, which included the work Approaching Storm by Grant Wood. The »bidding war« ended at USD 6,375.00 (€ 6,089.41), 28% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Grant Wood achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Study for "February" in December 2008 with an auction result of USD 1,058,500.00 (€ 760,471.30).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 28 % übertroffen
Im Juni letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in Los Angeles die Auktion Prints & Multiples durch, in der auch die Arbeit Approaching Storm von Grant Wood zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 6.375,00 (€ 6.089,41) und damit 28% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Grant Wood erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Study for "February" im Dezember 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.058.500,00 (€ 760.471,30).
