Auction result well in line with expectations
In November this year Phillips in New York held the auction 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Morning Session, which included the work Untitled (The Disasters of War 24) by Gottfried Helnwein. The price achieved of USD 63,500.00 (€ 58,214.15) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 50,000.00 – 80,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gottfried Helnwein - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Epiphany 2B (Die Anbetung der Hirten)., which sold at auction in December 2021 for EUR 158,400.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November diesen Jahres führte Phillips in New York die Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Morning Session durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (The Disasters of War 24) von Gottfried Helnwein zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 63.500,00 (€ 58.214,15) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 50.000,00 – 80.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Gottfried Helnwein mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Epiphany 2B (Die Anbetung der Hirten). beobachtet, die im Dezember 2021 für EUR 158.400,00 versteigert wurde.
