In November 2005 Christies in London held the auction British and Continental Pictures, which included the work Santa Maria Della Salute From The Grand Canal, Venice by Gordon Arthur Meadows. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,080.00 (€ 1,586.66), 20% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gordon Arthur Meadows - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Bacino di San Marco; The Venetian lagoon; Murano; Burano, which sold at auction in May 2007 for GBP 4,200.00 (€ 6,180.58).
