In May 2010 Christies in New York held the auction Latin American Sale, which included the work People in the Park by Gonzalo Cienfuegos. The result of USD 15,000.00 (€ 12,127.09) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gonzalo Cienfuegos - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Sin título, which sold at auction in June 2000 for USD 44,650.00 (€ 46,778.42).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im Mai 2010 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Latin American Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit People in the Park von Gonzalo Cienfuegos zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 15.000,00 (€ 12.127,09) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Gonzalo Cienfuegos mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Sin título beobachtet, die im Juni 2000 für USD 44.650,00 (€ 46.778,42) versteigert wurde.
