In May 2010 Christies in New York held the auction Latin American Sale, which included the work Naturaleza muerta by Gonzalo Cienfuegos. The result of USD 10,000.00 (€ 8,084.73) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Admittedly, works by Gonzalo Cienfuegos have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Sin título in June 2000 with an auction result of USD 44,650.00 (€ 46,778.42).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im Mai 2010 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Latin American Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Naturaleza muerta von Gonzalo Cienfuegos zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 10.000,00 (€ 8.084,73) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Gonzalo Cienfuegos auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Sin título im Juni 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 44.650,00 (€ 46.778,42).
