This artwork by Gonzalo Cienfuegos achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in May 2008. In the Latin American Sale Evening Session auction, the work La sonámbula con paisaje sold for USD 37,000.00 (€ 23,778.92) - well above the upper estimate of USD 20,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Gonzalo Cienfuegos; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Sin título sold at auction in June 2000 with the realized price of USD 44,650.00 (€ 46,778.42).
