A top price for Gösta Peterson
When the work Twiggy, New York Times, April 1967; and School Girls, Hawaii, Mademoiselle, 1963 by Gösta Peterson was auctioned at Christies in New York in February 2007, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - USD 2,500.00 but the actual price achieved was more than three times as high at USD 7,800.00 (€ 5,895.69). This high result makes Twiggy, New York Times, April 1967; and School Girls, Hawaii, Mademoiselle, 1963 the most expensive artwork by Gösta Peterson that we have observed at auctions so far.
