Auction result well in line with expectations
In June last year Phillips in Hong Kong held the auction 20th Century & Contemporary Art & Design Day Sale, which included the work Focal Point by Godwin Champs Namuyimba. The price achieved of HKD 252,000.00 (€ 30,666.54) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 180,000.00 – 280,000.00. Admittedly, works by Godwin Champs Namuyimba have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Connector in November 2021 with an auction result of HKD 1,323,000.00 (€ 147,104.19).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni letzten Jahres führte Phillips in Hong Kong die Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art & Design Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Focal Point von Godwin Champs Namuyimba zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 252.000,00 (€ 30.666,54) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 180.000,00 – 280.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Godwin Champs Namuyimba auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Connector im November 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 1.323.000,00 (€ 147.104,19).
