Artwork auctioned at four times the pre-set estimate
When the work Southbay by Glen Rubsamen was auctioned at VAN HAM in June 2015, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The estimate was set at - in retrospect quite modest - EUR 800.00 but the actual price achieved was more than four times as high at EUR 3,570.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Glen Rubsamen - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work If we can't have spots where no man has ever been, at least we can have spots where no man is at the moment, which sold at auction in February 2011 for GBP 10,625.00 (€ 12,515.36).
Kunstwerk zum Vierfachen des Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit Southbay von Glen Rubsamen im Juni 2015 bei VAN HAM versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – EUR 800,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit EUR 3.570,00 mehr als viermal so hoch. Für andere Arbeiten von Glen Rubsamen mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit If we can't have spots where no man has ever been, at least we can have spots where no man is at the moment beobachtet, die im Februar 2011 für GBP 10.625,00 (€ 12.515,36) versteigert wurde.
