Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Time Blossomed And Matter Shrank Away by Glen Rubsamen was auctioned at Christies in New York in December 2013, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 2,750.00 (€ 1,995.79). Admittedly, works by Glen Rubsamen have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work If we can't have spots where no man has ever been, at least we can have spots where no man is at the moment in February 2011 with an auction result of GBP 10,625.00 (€ 12,515.36).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Time Blossomed And Matter Shrank Away von Glen Rubsamen im Dezember 2013 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 2.750,00 (€ 1.995,79) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Glen Rubsamen auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit If we can't have spots where no man has ever been, at least we can have spots where no man is at the moment im Februar 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 10.625,00 (€ 12.515,36).
