Upper estimated price slightly exceeded

The »bidding war« ended at USD 7,200.00 (€ 5,442.18), 20% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gjon Mili - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Picasso Space Drawings, France, 1949, which sold at auction in October 2005 for USD 22,800.00 (€ 19,007.92).

Die Arbeit Legwork: Tap Dancer Betty Bruce, 1942 von Gjon Mili wurde im Februar 2007 in der Auktion Photographs From The Estate of Thomas T. Solley bei Christies in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 7.200,00 (€ 5.442,18) und damit 20% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Gjon Mili mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Picasso Space Drawings, France, 1949 beobachtet, die im Oktober 2005 für USD 22.800,00 (€ 19.007,92) versteigert wurde.
