Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2018 Christies in New York held the auction An American Journey: The Diann G. and Thomas A. Mann Collection of Photographic Masterworks, which included the work Nude Descending Staircase, 1949 by Gjon Mili. The price achieved of USD 6,875.00 (€ 6,066.89) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gjon Mili - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Picasso Space Drawings, France, 1949, which sold at auction in October 2005 for USD 22,800.00 (€ 19,007.92).
