Auction result well in line with expectations
In January last year Sothebys in New York held the auction Master Paintings Part II, which included the work The Assumption of the Virgin by Giuseppe Cesari. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 20,160.00 (€ 17,980.73) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Giuseppe Cesari achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work An angel in flight in October 2021 with an auction result of USD 834,000.00 (€ 721,952.91).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Januar letzten Jahres führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Master Paintings Part II durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Assumption of the Virgin von Giuseppe Cesari zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 20.160,00 (€ 17.980,73) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Giuseppe Cesari erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit An angel in flight im Oktober 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 834.000,00 (€ 721.952,91).
