Sold at the lower estimate price
In January 2021 Christies in New York held the auction Old Master & British Drawings including property from The Cornelia Bessie Estate, which included the work Head of a man in profile by Giuseppe Cesari. The result of USD 4,000.00 (€ 3,296.25) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Giuseppe Cesari achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work An angel in flight in October 2021 with an auction result of USD 834,000.00 (€ 721,952.91).
