Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Saint Francis at prayer by Giuseppe Cesari was sold in the Old Master Paintings & Sculpture Online auction at Christies in London in July last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 20,160.00 (€ 24,074.62) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Giuseppe Cesari achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work An angel in flight in October 2021 with an auction result of USD 834,000.00 (€ 721,952.91).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Saint Francis at prayer von Giuseppe Cesari wurde im Juli letzten Jahres in der Auktion Old Master Paintings & Sculpture Online bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 20.160,00 (€ 24.074,62) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
