In April 2004 Christies in New York held the auction 19th Century European Art including Barbizon, Realist and, which included the work The Bay Of Naples by Giuseppe Carelli. The »bidding war« ended at USD 19,120.00 (€ 9,681.01), 27% above the upper estimate. Other works by Giuseppe Carelli have achieved even higher prices, we observed the highest auction result so far of EUR 15,000.00 in December 2008 for the work Vedute Della Costiera Amalfitana.
