Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Giuseppe Cades could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in January 2021 for an unexpectedly low price. In the From Taddeo to Tiepolo: The Dr. John O’Brien Collection of Old Master Drawings auction, the work Two Men Carrying a Body Clothed in a Lion Skin changed hands for USD 5,040.00 (€ 4,153.28) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Giuseppe Cades achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Briseis Leaving Achilles' Tent in January 2008 with an auction result of USD 253,000.00 (€ 170,473.69).
In der Auktion From Taddeo to Tiepolo: The Dr. John O’Brien Collection of Old Master Drawings wechselte die Arbeit Two Men Carrying a Body Clothed in a Lion Skin für USD 5.040,00 (€ 4.153,28) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00.
