Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Christ on the Cross, with Saint John, Saint Mary Magdalene and the Virgin by Giuseppe Cades was sold in the Old Masters/New Scholars: Works of Art Sold to Benefit Rugby School auction at Christies in London in December 2018. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 5,000.00 – 8,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 5,250.00 (€ 5,848.97) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Giuseppe Cades achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Briseis Leaving Achilles' Tent in January 2008 with an auction result of USD 253,000.00 (€ 170,473.69).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Christ on the Cross, with Saint John, Saint Mary Magdalene and the Virgin von Giuseppe Cades wurde im Dezember 2018 in der Auktion Old Masters/New Scholars: Works of Art Sold to Benefit Rugby School bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 5.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 5.250,00 (€ 5.848,97) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Giuseppe Cades erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Briseis Leaving Achilles' Tent im Januar 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 253.000,00 (€ 170.473,69).
