In January 2014 Sothebys in New York held the auction Old Master Paintings, which included the work The Annunciation by Girolamo da Santacroce. The »bidding war« ended at USD 43,750.00 (€ 32,407.41), 46% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Girolamo da Santacroce - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Nativity, which sold at auction in December 2008 for GBP 66,050.00 (€ 69,371.72).

Im Januar 2014 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Old Master Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Annunciation von Girolamo da Santacroce zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 43.750,00 (€ 32.407,41) und damit 46% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Girolamo da Santacroce mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Nativity beobachtet, die im Dezember 2008 für GBP 66.050,00 (€ 69.371,72) versteigert wurde.
