Auction result misses estimated price range
In June 2013 a collector was able to acquire the work Christ And The Woman Of Samaria by Girolamo da Santacroce for USD 59,375.00 (€ 45,637.97). This price was achieved in the auction Old Master Paintings at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00 set by the auction house. Other works by Girolamo da Santacroce have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in December 2008 by the work The Nativity at GBP 66,050.00 (€ 69,371.72).
