Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Stillleben mit Trauben. by Giovanni Paolo Castelli was auctioned at Koller in September 2014, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of CHF 7,000.00 – 10,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for CHF 6,000.00 (€ 4,972.76). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Giovanni Paolo Castelli achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A melon, peaches, plums, quinces and grapes by a tree; and Grapes, apples and peaches in a wooded landscape in October 2006 with an auction result of USD 192,000.00 (€ 150,317.08).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Stillleben mit Trauben. von Giovanni Paolo Castelli im September 2014 bei Koller versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von CHF 7.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für CHF 6.000,00 (€ 4.972,76) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Giovanni Paolo Castelli erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A melon, peaches, plums, quinces and grapes by a tree; and Grapes, apples and peaches in a wooded landscape im Oktober 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 192.000,00 (€ 150.317,08).
