The »bidding war« ended at GBP 19,975.00 (€ 32,636.38), 66% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Giovanni Paolo Castelli have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A melon, peaches, plums, quinces and grapes by a tree; and Grapes, apples and peaches in a wooded landscape in October 2006 with an auction result of USD 192,000.00 (€ 150,317.08).

Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 19.975,00 (€ 32.636,38) und damit 66% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Giovanni Paolo Castelli auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A melon, peaches, plums, quinces and grapes by a tree; and Grapes, apples and peaches in a wooded landscape im Oktober 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 192.000,00 (€ 150.317,08).
