In May last year Christies in Paris held the auction Maîtres Anciens - Dessins, Peintures, Sculptures, which included the work Homme Barbu En Buste Portant Un Chapeau by Giovanni Francesco Barbieri. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 7,560.00 51% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Giovanni Francesco Barbieri achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work King David in July 2010 with an auction result of GBP 5,193,250.00 (€ 6,244,298.00).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 51 % übertroffen
Im Mai letzten Jahres führte Christies in Paris die Auktion Maîtres Anciens - Dessins, Peintures, Sculptures durch, in der auch die Arbeit Homme Barbu En Buste Portant Un Chapeau von Giovanni Francesco Barbieri zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 7.560,00 und damit 51% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Giovanni Francesco Barbieri erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit King David im Juli 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 5.193.250,00 (€ 6.244.298,00).
