Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work The apparition of the skeleton of Punchinello before his tomb by Giovanni Domenico Tiepolo was auctioned at Christies in London in July last year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 350,000.00 – 450,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 320,000.00 (€ 382,136.84). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Giovanni Domenico Tiepolo achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Tiepolo Family in July 2015 with an auction result of GBP 2,837,000.00 (€ 4,021,913.13).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit The apparition of the skeleton of Punchinello before his tomb von Giovanni Domenico Tiepolo im Juli letzten Jahres bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 350.000,00 – 450.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 320.000,00 (€ 382.136,84) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Giovanni Domenico Tiepolo erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Tiepolo Family im Juli 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 2.837.000,00 (€ 4.021.913,13).
