Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Giovanni Boldini could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in May last year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Belle Époque Splendor: The Discerning Eye of a Collector auction, the work Portrait of Countess Zichy changed hands for USD 1,320,500.00 (€ 1,230,547.01) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 1,500,000.00 – 2,500,000.00. Admittedly, works by Giovanni Boldini have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Italian portrait Of Giovinetta Errazuriz in November 2010 with an auction result of USD 6,578,500.00 (€ 5,046,409.94).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Giovanni Boldini konnte im Mai letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Belle Époque Splendor: The Discerning Eye of a Collector wechselte die Arbeit Portrait of Countess Zichy für USD 1.320.500,00 (€ 1.230.547,01) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 1.500.000,00 – 2.500.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Giovanni Boldini auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Italian portrait Of Giovinetta Errazuriz im November 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 6.578.500,00 (€ 5.046.409,94).
