Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2011 Sothebys in New York held the auction Old Master Drawings, which included the work The Supper At Emmaus by Giovanni Battista Gaulli. The price achieved of USD 8,125.00 (€ 5,924.17) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 7,000.00 – 9,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Giovanni Battista Gaulli achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait Of A Lady, Head And Shoulders in January 2014 with an auction result of USD 569,000.00 (€ 421,481.48).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Januar 2011 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Old Master Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Supper At Emmaus von Giovanni Battista Gaulli zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 8.125,00 (€ 5.924,17) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 7.000,00 – 9.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Giovanni Battista Gaulli erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait Of A Lady, Head And Shoulders im Januar 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 569.000,00 (€ 421.481,48).
