Auction result well in line with expectations
In February 2013 Sothebys in New York held the auction Important Old Master Paintings and Sculpture, which included the work Christ In Glory by Giovanni Battista Gaulli. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 100,000.00 – 150,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 104,500.00 (€ 79,899.07) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Giovanni Battista Gaulli have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait Of A Lady, Head And Shoulders in January 2014 with an auction result of USD 569,000.00 (€ 421,481.48).
